BTEC’s Job Preparedness Training focuses on preparing individuals to access employment by providing them with the tools necessary to increase their employability skills. Our trainings encompass soft skills (attitudes and behaviours) trainings and technical skills (industry specific). The Soft Skills Training is geared at developing attitudes and behaviours that will contribute to strong work ethics. These included: Professionalism, Positive Attitude, Effective Communication Skills, Time Management, Money Management, Managing Stress, Managing Conflict, Resume Writing and Interview Skills Preparation. Technical Skills are specific to the industry and are based on the best practices in the industry.
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Industry
This training provides participants with an Introduction into the industry by providing them with a firm foundation in Customer Service Basics and Sales. The Customer Service training includes: Introduction to Customer Service, why it’s important, telephone etiquette, building rapport with customers, handling difficult calls. The training is very interactive and participants are given real-life situations case examples as well as mock simulations.
Tourism Industry
The Tourism Industry is dynamic and engaging. Trainings in this service industry are built on a Customer centered foundation. All our hospitality trainings are based on industry best practices and are done in close collaboration with industry stakeholders. We offer: Guest Services (Front Desk) and Wait Staff and will be offering Bartending and Housekeeping/Janitorial Services as well as Kitchen staff trainings in the future.
Home-Health Care
The Basics of Care-giving training provides the basic knowledge, and skills needed to work with, and for older persons in a compassionate and respectful manner. The objectives of the trainings are: to promote a safe environment that will enhance health and wellness for older persons; promoting skills to take care of older persons; to create a cadre of trained care givers. The training has four components: soft skills, care-giving theory, first aid and CPR certification and internship.
