Trade License Registration

Applications must be submitted to the City Council or Town Board in the respective areas. However, businesses operating in rural areas are exempt from this requirement. Fees are calculated as a percentage of the premises’ annual rental value and are payable within 30 days of receiving the invoice. The percentage, averaging 25%, varies depending on the type of business. Trade license applications are reviewed quarterly. Applicants may request a special meeting for an additional fee of BZ$150.00 (US$75).”

Applicants who wish to open a business must submit a copy of their business registration certificate to the City Council or Town Board before applying for a license, and must ensure their business is established in a commercial area.

To renew a trade license, applicants must submit a written application to the Clerk of Council detailing the nature of the business, its legal name, and the address as registered with the council. The annual license fee is calculated as one-fourth of the annual value of the business premises. Peddlers are subject to an annual fee of BZ$100.00 (US$50).
